Dinosaur Jr. 1984 yılında ABD'nin Amherst, Massachusetts bölgesinde kurulan bir alternatif rock grubudur. Asıl adı Dinosaur olan grup yasal sorunlar nedeniyle adını değiştirmek zorunda kalmıştır. 1997 yılında dağılan grup, 2005 yılında yeniden toplanmıştır. Kurucular; gitarist J Mascis, bas gitarist Lou Barlow ve baterist Murph hala grubun üyesidir. Mascis grubun değişmeden kalan tek daimi üyesidir.
