Eli Whitney

Elias (Eli) Whitney (8 Aralık 1765, Massachusetts – 8 Ocak 1825, Connecticut), ABD'li mucit ve sanayiciydi. Standardizasyonu iş yönetimine ilk tanıtan kişi olarak bilinir.

Bir çiftçinin oğlu olan Whitney, 1792'de Yale Üniversitesi'nden mezun oldu. İlk patentini pamuk ayrıştırma makinası için aldı.
