Fotoliz

Fotoliz, fotosentezin ışık tepkimelerinde ATP ve NADPH₂ üretimi için gerek duyulan hidrojen ve elektronları elde etmek için suyu parçalamasına denir.

2·H₂O → 4·H⁺ + 2·e^- + O₂

Fotosentezle oluşan oksijen de bu esnada açığa çıkar.
