George Smith

George Smith (26 Mart 1840, Chelsea – 19 Ağustos 1876, Halep), Asuroloji biliminin öncülerinden olan İngiliz Asurolog ve arkeolog. 1870'li yıllarda Gılgamış Destanı'nın ilk modern çevirisini yayımlamasıyla bilinir.

British Museum adına birçok kazı yapan Smith, Karkamış'ın ismini tespit etmiştir.
