Glenn Branca (d. 6 Ekim 1948) ABD'li besteci ve yazar. Özellikle farklı akord edilmiş gitar tonları, bol tekrarlamalı ana hatlar üzerine sololarla süslenmiş ilginç bir tarzı var.

Biyografi

1949 dogumlu amerikali girarist ve besteci. muzige deneysel tiyatrosunda sesin degisik kullanimlarini arastirirken girdi. 1970lerin sonunda nycde birçok No Wave grubunun bestelerini yapti. 1980lerde mikrotonal muzige gecis yapti. ilk yedi senfonisi endustriyel sesler ile zenginlestirilmis olmakla birlikte asil olarak gitar icindi. bu donem muziginde Harry Partch etkisi ise buyuktur. bu siralarda kurdugu ensemblesi Sonic Youth'un kurucu uyeleri Thurston Moore ve Lee Ranaldo'u da iceriyordu. bu acidan Sonic Youth'un fikir babasi desek kendisi icin yanlis bir yorumda bulunmus olmayiz. 7ci senfonisinden itibaren klasik orkestralar icin pek de klasik olmayan besteler yapmaya basladi. gitardan hic birzaman kopmadi. 2001 yilinda nyc'de gerceklestirdigi 100 gitarlik 13. senfoni performansi bu on yilin en onemli muzik olaylarindan biridir.
