Paromomisin

Paromomycin bir aminoglikozit grubu antibiyotiktir. 1950'lerde ilk kez Streptomyces krestomuceticus'tan izole edilmiştir.[1] Aynı zamanda monomycin ve aminosidine gibi isimleri de vardır.[2]

Kullanım alanları

Cryptosporidiosis, amibiyazis ve leishmaniazis gibi bağırsak enfeksiyonlarına etkilidir.

İntramüsküler enjeksiyon ve kapsül formu mevcuttur.

Mekanizma

Paromomycin 16S ribozomal RNA'ya bağlanarak protein sentezini inhibe eder.
