Steve Coll (d. 8 Ekim 1958, Washington, DC), Amerikalı akademisyen, gazeteci, yazar ve yönetici. Columbia Üniversitesi Gazetecilik Yüksek Lisans Okulu'nun dekanlığını yapmakta ve The New Yorker dergisinde yazıları yayınlanmaktadır. New America Foundation'ın eski yönetim ve icra kurulu başkanlarındandır.

İlk yılları

8 Ekim 1958'de, Washington, DC'de doğan Coll; 1976'da, Rockville, Maryland'deki Thomas Sprigg Wootton Lisesi'nden mezun oldu.^[1]^[2] Mezuniyeti sonrasında Los Angeles, Kaliforniya'ya taşındı ve yüksek öğrenimini 1980 yılında Occidental College'da tamamladı.^[1]^[2]

Kariyeri

1983-1984 yıllarında California, 1984-1985 yıllarında Inc. dergisinde editörlük yaptı.^[1]^[3] 1985'te The Washington Post'un yazar kadrosuna katıldı ve 2005'e kadar gazetede çeşitli pozisyonlarda görev aldı.^[1] 1990'da, Açıklayıcı Habercilik kategorisinde Pulitzer Ödülü kazandı.^[1] 2005'ten beri The New Yorker dergisinin yazar kadrosunda yer almaktadır.^[1]

Çeşitli kurgusal olmayan kitaplar yazan Coll, 2004'te yayımlanan Ghost Wars adlı kitabıyla 2005 yılında Kurgusal Olmayan Genel Eser kategorisinde Pulitzer Ödülü'nün sahibi oldu.^[1]
