AFI'nın 100 Yılı... 100 Film

AFI’s 100 Years...100 Movies Amerikan Film Enstitüsü'nün orijinalini 1998'de yayınladığı, 10 yıl sonra 2007'de ise tekrar düzenlediği, tüm zamanların en iyi 100 amerikan filminin yer aldığı liste.

2007 listesi

• Steven Spielberg listede en fazla filmi olan yönetmendir. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Saving Private Ryan ve Schindler's List filmleri ile toplam 5 filmi bu listede yer almaktadır. Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick ve Billy Wilder 4 film ile; Frank Capra, Charles Chaplin, Francis Ford Coppola, John Huston ve Martin Scorsese 3 film ile listede yer almışlardır.
• Robert Duvall 6 filmle en çok film de oynayan oyuncudur(M*A*S*H,To Kill Mockingbird,Godfather 1,Godfather 2,Apocalypse Now,Network
• Robert De Niro, James Stewart ve Harrsion Ford listedeki 5 filmde rol almıştır. Faye Dunaway, Katharine Hepburn ve Diane Keaton 3 filmle temsil edilmiştir.
• 1970'ler listeye giren 20 filmle beraber bu listede en fazla filmi olan on yıldır.
• 1969, 1976 ve 1982 yıllarından 4'er film listede yer almıştır: 1982 (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Tootsie, Blade Runner, Sophie's Choice); 1976 (Network, Taxi Driver, Rocky, All the President's Men); 1969 (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Midnight Cowboy, Easy Rider, The Wild Bunch).
• Listede yer alan yapım tarihi en erken olan film 1916 yapımı olanIntolerance , yapım tarihi en geç olan film ise 2001 yapımı The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

• Üç film 10 yıl önceki yerlerini korudu. Bunlar; Yurttaş Kane, Baba II ve Hayatımızın En Güzel Yılları
• Önceki listede olan fakat 2007 yılındaki listede olmayan en yüksek dereceli film ilk listede 39. sırada bulunan 1969 yapımı Doktor Jivago filmiydi. İlk listede olmayan ve 2007 listesinde yer alan en yüksek dereceli film ise 18. sıradan listeye giren 1927 yapımı The General filmidir.
• Kızgın Boğa (#4) ve Ölüm Korkusu (#9) yeni listede ilk 10'a girmeyi başarırken, The Graduate (önceki sırası #7) ve Rıhtımlar Üzerinde (önceki sırası #8) ilk 10'dan çıkmıştır.
• 1998 yılındaki listede 18. sırada yer alan Afrika Kraliçesi 2007 listesinde 48 sıra birden düşmüş ve 65. sırada yer almıştır. The African Queen İki liste arasında en fazla yer kaybeden filmdir.
• En fazla yükselen filmler ise; 84 sıra yükselen Çöl Aslanı , 65 sıra yükselen Şehir Işıkları, 52 sıra yükselen Vertigo, 30 sıra yükselen Unforgiven, ve 26 sıra yükseleb The Deer Hunter filmleridir.
• İlk 10daki 8 film En İyi Film Akademi Ödülü'ne aday gösterildi ve bu filmlerden 5'i bu ödülü kazanmayı başardı.1998 yılında ise 9 film aday gösterilmiş, 6'sı ödülü kazanmıştı.
