Denholm Elliott

Denholm Mitchell Elliott (d. 31 Mayıs 1922- 6 Ekim 1991), dört BAFTA sahibi (1981, 1984, 1985 ve 1986) başarılı İngiliz oyuncu. 1988 yılında İngiliz Şövalyelik Nişanı kazandı.

Hayatı

Layman Elliott ve Nina'nın çocuğu olarak Londra'da doğdu. II. Dünya Savaşı boyunca Royal Air Force'a hizmet etti. Savaş sonrası ilk filmi olan Dear Mr. Prohack (1949) yer aldı. Daha sonraki çalışmalarında aktör olarak birçok projede yer aldı.

Trading Places, A Private Function ve Defence of the Realm filmleriyle 1980'li yıllarda üç BAFTA ödülü kazandı. 1987 yılında [[Manzaralı Oda]] filmiyle En İyi Yardımcı Erkek Oyuncu Akademi Ödülü'ne aday oldu. Indiana Jones: Kutsal Hazine Avcıları ve Indiana Jones: Son Macera filmlerindeki rolleri ile daha çok tanınmaya başlandı.

70 yaşındayken AIDS hastalığında öldü. İkinci eşi Susan Robinson, Denholm Elliott Project adlı bir dernek kurdu.
