Harvard Medical School (HMS) (Türkçe: Harvard Tıp Okulu), ABD'de Harvard Üniversitesi bünyesinde yer alan tıp fakültesidir. Boston, Massachusetts yakınlarındaki Mission Hill'de bulunan Longwood Medical Area'da bulunur. U.S. News & World Report verilerine göre ABD'de bulunan en iyi tıbbi araştırma fakültesidir..[2]

Tarihi

Okul ABD'de kurulan en eski 3. tıp fakültesidir, (Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania ve Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons'dan sonra) ve John Warren, Benjamin Waterhouse ve Aaron Dexter tarafından 19 Eylül 1782 yılında kurulmuştur.

Cambridge'den Boston'a 1810 yılında taşınmıştır. 1816 - 1846 yılları arasında fakülte Harvard Üniversitesi Massachusetts Medical College olarak isimlendirilmiştir. Şimdiki yeri ve beş beyaz mermer binanın çevrelediği "Büyük Beyaz Dörtgen" veya HMS Dörtgeni olaran adlandırılan Longwood Caddesi'ndeki yerine 1906 yılında taşınmıştır.[3][4]

Harvard Tıp Okulu'nun 4 ana eğitim ve araştırma hastanesi Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital ve Massachusetts General Hospital'dır.[5]
