Sahra Altı Afrika
Sahra Altı Afrika coğrafî olarak Sahra Çölü'nün güneyinde yer alan bölgeyi; siyasi olarak, aynı bölgedeki Sudan harici ülkelerin tamamını ifade eder.[2] Bölge Afrika'nın Arap Devletleri'n bulunduğu Kuzey Afrika dışında kalan bölgesidir. Somali, Cibuti, Komorlar veMoritanya hem Arap Devleti hem de Sahra Altı Devletler'dendir.[3][4]
Bölge siyahi nüfusu nedeni ile Kara Afrika olarak da adlandırılır.[5]
