İslamdağ, Ordu ilinin Fatsa ilçesine bağlı bir belde iken 2013 Mart ayında çıkan yasa ile Ordu'nun büyükşehir belediyesi olmasıyla mahalle olmuştur.
Halkın tamamına yakını fındık çiftçiliği ile geçinmektedir.
