Æthelstan ya da Athelstan Eski İngilizce: Æþelstan, Æðelstān; c. 894 – 27 Ekim 939), 924 ile 927 yılları arasında Anglo-Saksonların Kralı ve 927 ile 939 yılları arasında İngilizlerin Kralı.[lower-alpha 1] Kral Yaşlı Edward ve ilk karısı Ecgwynn'ın oğludur. Modern tarihçiler onu İngiltere'nin ilk kralı ve en büyük Anglo-Sakson krallardan biri olarak belirtirler. Hiçbir zaman evlenmemiştir ve yerine baba bir kardeşi I. Edmund geçmiştir.

  1. Büyük Alfred öncesi dokuzuncu yüzyıl Batı Sakson kralları tarihçiler tarafından genellikle Wessex ya da Batı Sakson Kralları olarak adlandırılırlar. 880lerde, Mercia Lordu Æthelred, Batı Sakson Lordluğunu kabul etmiştir.
